On October 16th 2025 (Thursday) at 7 pm at the French School in seorae maeul (running time about 90 minutes) - Ms. Sora Kim-Russell, a renowned American translator will be giving a talk about her journey as a translator of Korean contemporary literature. In this talk centered on depictions of mothers and care work in Korean literature, Sora will share excerpts from her translations of Pyun Hye-Young's The Hole (2016) and Kim Eui-Kyung's forthcoming Hello Baby (2023), and discuss the perils of becoming a professional translator and working mother.
This talk is being sponsored by the Korean Literature Translation Institute. It is free to attend but pre-reservation is a must for attendance check at the Entrance of the school. Kindly pass on the message to your friends who are also interested in this topic.
