Holiday Hiking! Inwangsan trekking and 'Yoon Dong Ju' literature museum

Details
Inwangsan
is a mountain with a height of 338 meters, located in Jongno-gu and Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, central areas of Seoul, South Korea.[1] The name literally means "mountain of generous king" in Korean. The mountain covers an area of 1,086,696.50 m2 and has many huge granite peaks which distinguish it from other mountains in Seoul. Each rock is named after its characteristic form, such as gicha bawi (기차바위, train rock), chima bawi (치마바위 skirt rock), iseul bawi (이슬바위 dew rock), moja bawi (모자바위 hat rock), and jiryungii bawi (지렁이바위 worm rock).[2]
Inwangsan is famous for its view, so many painters depicted the mountain in their works such as Jeong Seon's Inwang jesaekdo. The Fortress Wall of Seoul surrounds the mountain in which Inwangsa temple and Guksadang shrine are located as well.[3] Access to certain parts of the mountain, including the peak are limited during certain days and times due to the location of a military installation spanning different parts of the mountain.[4]

'Yoon Dong Ju' literature museum
Yoon Dong-ju entered the dormitory when he was a student at Yeonhui College, and in May 1941, he left the dormitory with his friend and junior Jeong Byung-wook and lodged at the novelist Kim Song House at 9 Nusang-dong, Jongno-gu.[3] Jeong Byeong-wook, who later became a Korean literature scholar, preserved and published the manuscript of his handwritten poetry "Sky, Wind, Stars and Poems" presented by Yoon Dong-ju, and testified that several masterpieces of Dongju were written here, recalling the days of boarding in Nusang-dong [4].[5] Jongno-gu decided to build a literary museum by taking advantage of the relationship where Yoon Dong-ju lived for a while.[6]
The place where the Yoon Dong-ju Literature Museum was originally a water supply pressurization center for Cheongwoon Apartment.[1] Cheongun Apartment is an apartment complex built as part of the Seoul Urban Development Plan, and was built in 1969 with 11 buildings and 557 households to resolve the housing shortage of people flocking to Seoul.[7] Since 1995, there has been a diagnosis that the structure of the apartment is not safe, and after trying to reconstruct it, it was decided to give up and demolish it. Cheongun Park was built at the site where the apartment was demolished.[8] Cheongun Apartment was completely demolished in September 2005, and the park construction project was carried out.[7] The construction of Cheongun Park was carried out as part of the demolition and green return of 63 apartments in a total of eight districts, including Naksan Park in Seoul, and all but Dobong Citizens' Apartments, which were designated as military reserves, were completed.[9]
Even after the construction of Cheongun Park, the pressurization hall was left unattended, and the Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum was built through remodeling.[10]
