Climate Change: Putting Pressure on the people in power

We all recycle and share information on the climate. But, understandably, there's a lot of frustration that progress on climate action isn't happening fast enough. If only there was a type of personal action that can speed up change. There is! Direct Action! At this meeting we will be looking at the history of the different forms of Direct Action; from political advocacy, divestment, legal action and, yes, protest.

(To be clear, it is illegal for foreigners to participate in political action in Korea. While some may argue that climate activism is a global issue, I want to stress, this meeting is a discussion of the history of climate related direct action in the West, not a call to engage in political activity in Korea.)

우리 모두는 기후에 대한 정보를 재활용하고 공유합니다. 하지만 당연히 기후 행동에 대한 진전이 충분히 빠르지 않다는 불만이 많습니다. 변화를 가속화할 수 있는 개인적인 행동이 있었다면 좋았을 텐데요! 직접 행동! 이번 회의에서는 정치적 옹호, 매각, 법적 조치, 시위에 이르기까지 다양한 형태의 직접 행동의 역사를 살펴볼 것입니다.
(분명히 말씀드리자면, 외국인이 한국에서 정치 활동에 참여하는 것은 불법입니다. 기후 행동주의가 전 세계적인 문제라고 주장하는 분들도 계시겠지만, 강조하고 싶은 것은 이번 회의는 한국에서 정치 활동을 하라는 요청이 아니라 서구의 기후 관련 직접 행동의 역사를 논의하는 자리입니다.)
