2025년 3월 PyLadies Seoul 월간 북클럽 (Monthly Book Club)

2025년을 맞아, PyLadies Seoul에서는 월간 북클럽을 진행하고 있습니다!
📚 월간 북클럽이란 매 달 한 권의 책을 읽고 첫번째 수요일 저녁에 온라인에서 모여 감상을 나누는 모임입니다.

이번 달의 책은 구독자 수 80만명의 인기 일러스트 유튜버 사이토 나오키의 <잘 그리기 금지> 입니다. 일러스트를 주제로 하는 책이지만, 개발에 적용해도 좋을 내용들이라 해당 책으로 선정하게 되었습니다!

책 소개: 이 책에서는 그가 유튜브를 통해 크게 반향을 일으켰던 일러스트레이터가 되는 방법에 대한 생각과 행동에 대한 내용뿐 아니라 현업 일러스트레이터로서 직접 겪었던 경험을 통해 얻은 노하우를 아낌없이 알려드립니다. “그림을 잘 못 그리겠어요”, “사람들이 봐 주지 않아요”, “일이 들어오지 않아요”, “의욕이 생기지 않아요” 등의 고민들에 대해 Q&A 식으로 자세한 사례를 들어 해결해 줍니다. 그리고 이 내용에 대한 포인트를 일러스트와 간단한 도표 등으로 더 이해하기 쉽게 설명합니다. 창작을 하는 사람이라면 가져야 할 마음가짐에 대해서도 알려주어 그림을 그리다가 벽에 부딪혔을 때에 많은 도움이 될 겁니다. • 본 모임 시작은 9시부터입니다. 책을 전혀 읽지 못한 경우에는 8시부터 디스코드 보이스 채널에 미리 들어오셔서 같이 책을 읽는 시간을 가질 수 있습니다!

• 디스코드 서버에 들어오시면 RSVP 제출 시 입력하신 닉네임에 비공개 채널 접근 권한을 드릴 예정입니다. 첫 모임 전날인 3월 4일 화요일 오후 6시까지 디스코드 서버에 가입해주셔야 원활한 권한 부여와 모임 참여가 가능합니다!

PyLadies Seoul is excited to announce our Monthly Book Club for 2025!
📚 The Monthly Book Club is a gathering where we read one book each month and meet online on the first Wednesday evening to share our thoughts.

This month's book is "Don't Try to Draw Well" by Naoki Saito, a popular illustrator YouTuber with 800,000 subscribers. Although it's a book about illustration, we chose it because its insights can be valuable for developers too!

Book Introduction: This book shares not only the author's thoughts and actions about becoming an illustrator that gained significant attention on YouTube but also his firsthand experience and expertise as a professional illustrator. Using a Q&A format with detailed examples, he addresses common concerns like "I can't draw well," "People don't look at my work," "I'm not getting any jobs," and "I lack motivation." The book uses illustrations and simple diagrams to explain key points more clearly. It also discusses the mindset creators should maintain, which can be particularly helpful when facing creative blocks. (Source: Kyobo Book)

• The main meeting starts at 9:00 PM. If you haven't read the book yet, you can join the Discord voice channel at 8:00 PM for a group reading session!

• You'll receive access to the private channel based on the nickname you provided in your RSVP. Please join the Discord server by 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4th, to ensure smooth access and participation!
