A master lease gives the lessee the right to control and sublease an asset for a given period of time. The presenter is Jeff Yu. Jeff works for Sovereign State (소버린 스테이트), the master lease operator of a modern 9-storey commercial building (see rendering), which is also the annex to the Construction Engineers Hall.

What exactly is a master lease agreement? Why would a landlord consider partnering with a master lease investor? How do master lease investors make money? What kind of ROI can they expect? What are some common terms and conditions found in master lease agreements? What are the challenges and risks that master lease investors face? How do sub-tenants feel about signing a lease with a master lease investor as opposed to a landlord? Learn all this and more.

The event will be held in the building itself, which is located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu. We’ll kick things off with an educational presentation about master leases. This will be followed by a guided tour of the building including the rooftop lounge, where attendees will have the opportunity to network with other members of the Seoul Real Estate Investing Meetup.
