Kotlin Serbia Birthday meetup

Our first meetup in 2018th carries multiple reasons for excitement. Besides learning more about Kotlin @ Ximedes we will also celebrate our first birthday. On 28th of February, we will have a chance to host a guest speaker from the Netherland - Hugo Witsel.

1.Kotlin @ Ximedes by Hugo Witsel

In his talk, Hugo will share the first-hand experience from the process of switching from Java to Kotlin in 2017. One of the main points you should take from the meetup is why Ximedes, a Java development house, chose to switch to Kotlin and what is their experience along the way.

Hugo Witsel works at Ximedes as a Principal Software Architect. He is a Java developer since 2003. and a Kotlin developer since 2017.

2. Discussion with snacks - how to move Java code base to idiomatic Kotlin code

In an informal part of the meetup, we will discuss code snippets and try to improve them to more concise Kotlin code. We are open and will be happy to hear your suggestions.

Please feel free to send us the code samples that you would like to be discussed. Goal idea for this session is to share tricks and tips on Kotlin developments so we could later apply them in our projects.
