I Think About Failure All the Time (but I’m Not Depressed)

Systems fail constantly. Failure is as inevitable as death and taxes. Instead of letting certain failure get us down, we can use that knowledge to build better, more resilient systems that bend but do not break. We will talk about how to identify, classify, and quantify failure scenarios, architectural patterns for recovery, and how to make a positive failure focus part of our everyday work. As this is a serverless meetup, we'll talk about many of the solutions in a serverless context.
Matt has been building web applications for 25 years and as such has failed quite a lot. He's currently anticipating and mitigating failure as a Senior Director of Engineering at CommentSold.
