Serverless.LAB(meetup) #4

After 3 meetups in Brno…and several questions about when are we gonna have it in Prague… it's time to organize the 4️⃣th meetup finally in Prague.

At Purple Technology we have been using Serverless architecture for more than 6 years 💪 and it is the use of Serverless that has allowed us to grow to scale, where even with a small team we are building global 🌍 fintech projects. Together with the other speakers and with you, we want to spread awareness of this approach, because in the Czech Republic, it is still not known as it deserves.

1. Filip Pýrek (Cloud Architect @ Purple Technology) - Serverless is Just a Buzzword. But What Does it Mean in Practice?
There is a lot of buzz around the word Serverless and many people have a hard time understanding it (even people from AWS from Aurora or OpenSearch teams). Filip has 6 years of experience with architecting and building big Serverless applications at Purple Lab and is going to share his views from everyday practice. Come and learn more about Filip’s tips and tricks.
2. Thomas Ankcorn (Senior Software Engineer @ Baselime) - 3 Steps for AWSome Step Functions
Step functions are one of the first serverless services I worked with after lambda and because of my inexperience, I have made some huge mistakes and shipped some absolutely awful things with them.
After a brief overview of step functions and why you should be using them I will show you what these mistakes were. What patterns and constraints you should apply when building a step function. And what my workflow looks like.
3. Muhammed Salih Güler (Senior Developer Advocate @ AWS) - Building Full Stack Flutter Applications with AWS Amplify
Flutter’s capability of helping developers to deploy applications to all platforms increased its popularity. The tool to help you achieve to power up your application with a Serverless tech stack without having a beginner level of understanding is AWS Amplify. In this talk, you will learn about AWS Amplify and how you can develop a Flutter application by using it.

Let’s meet at Přístavní 7 (Prague 7 - Holešovice). Search for a big tree. The Purple colour will be there and Purple will guide you inside 💜. The door is opening at 18:00 and talks are starting at 18:30. Drinks are on us and food will be there as well. Networking will follow after talks and will continue until we will down all kegs. In Brno, 3 AM is usually the time we finish. How it will be in Prague?
