01:10pm-02:00pm ET - Serverless works! Developing with cloud resources
Danielle Heberling, AWS Community Builder

Serverless and the cloud introduce new ways of creating software that require a mindset shift. This talk will take you on the journey from “it works on my computer” to being confident that applications will work when deployed in the cloud. Topics covered will be the current state of (some) development environments, common failure scenarios to watch out for when something works locally and not in the cloud, and implementation ideas to increase confidence that applications will work in all environments.

Bio: Danielle Heberling is a software engineer with a background that includes being a musician and teaching at a K-8 public school. She’s passionate about building things that make the world a better place, whether that be through social change or a good laugh. When she’s not coding, you can often find her reaching back to her teaching roots by mentoring folks from underrepresented groups that would like to make a career switch into tech.
