CDK and SERVERLESS - more straightforward than you think

Instead of using CloudFormation for the following AWS project, one could consider using CDK. It will allow writing clean and maintainable code instead of counting tabs in a 2000-line YAML file. Why is it convenient to start with provisioning cloud infrastructure for the serverless use case?

What's new with AWS Step Functions?

In this talk, we will dive deep on Step Functions and discuss some of the more exciting, recent releases that came out in the last few weeks. Step Functions is rapidly becoming one of the most powerful and flexible building blocks on the AWS platform and we are very excited to share a few learnings on how to best use the service and what pitfalls to avoid. We will include several quick demo's and practical examples of how we use Step Functions at our company.

About the speakers:

Igor Soroka is an independent serverless contractor based in Finland. After several years of consulting and work with Java monoliths, he decided to explore what JS and cloud have to offer. He has a background in engineering, loves long-distance running, and is an AWS Community Builder.

Marek Kuczyński is a Serverless Engineer working at Stedi. Prior to joining the company, Marek spent 5 years as a Solutions Architect at AWS working with various different AWS customers. Marek lives in The Hague and has been an active member of this meetup for several years too!
