Confidently Build Cloud-Native Applications with Serverless Integration Testing
If there is one mantra for serverless, it's "Code is a Liability". But as code is replaced with services, the testing landscape changes too. Instead of unit tests, we need integration tests. In this talk we'll show how to build serverless integration tests with AWS Step Functions, Lambda and Pytest.
-- TALK 2 --
Serverless at IKEA
Jerry will share how IKEA has made the journey to embrace serverless technologies. Starting with a brief history of IKEA’s adoption of the cloud, he will then talk about how IKEA uses serverless technology today, the principles they adhere to, some of the challenges they have faced, and where they see the journey continuing in the future.
About the speakers:
Luc van Donkersgoed
My name is Luc van Donkersgoed, an AWS Hero ([https://aws.amazon.com/developer/community/heroes/luc-van-donkersgoed/…](https://t.co/QENWkIQyuZ)) and 12-times certified AWS engineer/architect with a passion for sharing knowledge. I've been building and designing infrastructures on AWS for years. First as a hobby, then as a consultant, and most recently as a lead engineer at PostNL. I love sharing what I learn, both at events like meetups and conferences, as well as online. You can find me on Twitter(https://twitter.com/donkersgood/) and most of work on Bite-Sized Serverless([https://bitesizedserverless.com](https://t.co/WE6U7ywvID)).
Jerry McCollom
Jerry McCollom is a Sr Technology Architect with Ingka Group Digital / IKEA in Amsterdam working with other architects and developers on optimizing the development experience. In his decades-long career, he’s worked on everything from software for orthodontists, to enterprise-grade network management platforms, to consumer products, and now works with cloud-based and hybrid serverless technologies. He recently moved here from Colorado, USA where he was a software architect for North America’s largest agriculture retailer, having helped transition much of their cloud-based portal to use serverless technologies.
