Serverless means stateless, right? But surely applications need to persist some state somewhere.

What are the right choices for storage solutions that fit a serverless architecture? In this session, I’ll provide several answers to this question. We’ll look at several Azure Functions, written in .NET Core.
The other key Azure components in this architecture include; CosmosDB, Table Storage, Blob Storage, and Durable Entities.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a good grasp of the various storage options which will fit your serverless architecture best.

  > Firebase, Google’s serverless platform & services for mobile and web applications - By Renaud Tarnec

During this talk we will present into detail the different services offered by Firebase to build an app: Authentication (User login and identity), Cloud Firestore (Realtime, cloud hosted, NoSQL database), Cloud Storage (massively scalable file storage), Cloud Functions (serverless event driven backend) and Firebase Hosting (global web hosting).

With code examples, we will look at how these services can be combined in a mix-and-match approach to implement real-life use cases.

• About our speakers!

Renaud Tarnec - Renaud Tarnec is a Google Developer Expert for Firebase and a full-stack web application developer and architect with 20+ years of experience, exclusively in IT services companies.

He is passionate about crafting user-centric digital tools and, over the years, he has developed many business web apps like collaborative work platforms, workflow applications, transactional e-banking and e-commerce websites.

His expertise covers all stages of the application development life-cycle, from business/functional analysis, technical analysis, architecture and design, development and testing, up to production deployment and application maintenance.

Based in Brussels, Belgium, Renaud is a freelance consultant and runs his own company, rta Consulting, serving customers of various domains and sizes. For the past three years, he has been working with all the Firebase services, in particular Cloud Functions, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage. He loves them so much – to the extent that today, all of his client web app development projects are based on Firebase!

When not working on projects, Renaud enjoys sharing knowledge with fellow developers on Stack Overflow, in particular for the “firebase”, "google-cloud-firestore" and "google-cloud-functions" tags.

Marc Duiker - Marc is a lead consultant at Xpirit with a strong focus on event-driven architectures. He has extensive knowledge of the serverless offerings in the Azure platform and he enjoys helping organizations making effective use of cloud-based technology.

You might have seen Marc at a developer meetup or conference since he's a regular speaker in the area of Azure cloud & serverless technologies. He even has a Youtube channel where he talks about Azure Functions.

In his spare time, Marc likes to give attention to the creative part of his brain. He likes to code visuals, music, and retro games, or he's fiddling around with his synthesizers.
