🎤 Rainbow Kitten Surprise @ Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Details

Rainbow Kitten Surprise blend alt-folk drama with arena-sized emotion, turning introspective lyrics and genre-blurring grooves into cathartic singalongs. Their sound swings from hushed vulnerability to full-blown swagger—like if Judah & the Lion started channeling Kings of Leon and Frank Ocean in equal measure.

> “RKS have a gift for turning left turns into anthems—and making weird feel big.”

  • 🔹 Who They Are: A North Carolina-bred five-piece with a fiercely devoted fanbase and a sound that slips between folk, rock, R&B, and whatever else they’re feeling.
  • 🔹 If You Like: Judah & the Lion, Mt. Joy, Hozier, Cold War Kids
  • 🔹 Essential Track: “It’s Called: Freefall” — aching, cryptic, and impossible not to sing along to.
  • 🔹 Must-Listen Album: How to: Friend, Love, Freefall — heartfelt and theatrical, in the best way.
  • 🎤 Why This Show? RKS fans don’t just attend shows—they show up deep. Add the Red Rocks glow and you’ve got a full-body, full-heart kind of night.
  • 📍 Meetup Plan: Meet at Ship Rock Grille at 5:30 PM for dinner and views, then head up early to grab GA seats together—no seat saving if you're late, sorry friends.
  • 🎟️ Tickets at Ticketmaster. Pro tip: Skip the fees and get a paper ticket to any Bluebird, Ogden, Gothic or Mission show at any one of those box offices when you're seeing your next show. Weigh the benefits of easy transfers + potential sellouts on your own terms.

This may be a DIY event 🔥
As a top-voted show for our group, I want to offer you all a chance to connect—even if I can’t (yet) commit to hosting it myself! Plan to make it your own, using the comments to coordinate. Who knows, maybe I'll surprise us all and be able to join.

Q: What's the RSVP policy?
A: RSVP etiquette is crucial! No-shows can throw off the vibe of the event, so we kindly ask that you shoot the host a message or un-RSVP before the event starts if you can't make it. Two no-shows may result in removal from the group.

Q: How can I support?
A: Did you know that your humble organizers pay about $360 a year to bring events to you on Meetup? A tiny annual donation from you is all it takes to keep the events coming. Suggested donation is $5/event or $20 for unlimited events. Just send a Venmo/Paypal to me @mandirao (or ask me for Zelle). Couldn't do it without you!
