ACTION ALERT! NO Motocross in the Wildlife Corridor!!

Details

Tuesday, April 15, 2025
4-6PM
Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, Room 204

This is a Volusia County Council Meeting, not a SEVAS event.

ECHO Volusia Forever recommends a ‘NO’ vote due to the proposed location being inside the delicate Florida Wildlife Corridor.

WE AGREE and SUPPORT A “NO” VOTE ON MOTOCROSS IN THE WILDLIFE CORRIDOR! On April 15th the Volusia County Council will decide whether or not to build a motocross facility in the Florida Wildlife Corridor using your ECHO and/or Volusia Forever funds to buy the property.

$2 Million of our tax money to purchase environmentally sensitive land in the wildlife corridor for use as a motocross facility??

HECK NO. The Corridor provides habitat for wildlife, supports water supply for people, and preserves rural heritages.

We’re not for or against a motocross facility in Volusia County. We’re against this location and the use of ECHO and/or Volusia Forever funds for the land purchase. Motocross isn’t low impact and would be harmful to vulnerable wetlands. The Wildlife Corridor is the wrong place for this facility!

Action requested: Please join us at the meeting to let the Council know. You can bring a sign, or speak at the meeting if you wish, but we are looking for many people to join the opposition. This is key as the pro-motocross position will likely be well-represented.
AND: Contact your Volusia County Council Member (addresses below)
