Merritt Island NWR: Black Point Drive
This is mostly a driving tour. This is a perfect bird trip for anyone with mobility issues. This is an easy trip as we drive the Black Point Drive with some easy trail walking.
Merritt Island is a good place to see waders, shore birds, song birds and raptors. At noon we usually stop at Visitor Center for picnic lunch. Free and open to the public. Leader is Chip Francke. Bring water, optics, bug spray, sun screen, snacks, and a bag lunch.
Meet for car-pooling at 715AM at the Dunkin' parking lot, 1812 S Ridgeway Ave, Edgewater. NOTE: there is a fee if you do not have a NWR permit- see more here:
