Seven Bridges is back with yet another exciting JavaScript meetup loaded with insights about the language and thriving community around it. 💡

We wholeheartedly invite you to come attend the meetup at our Seven Bridges cafeteria (ground floor) on Thursday, November 14th at 18:00 and witness the engaging tech stack talks about the legacy of Backbone, multi/repository Angular and a variety of other JavaScript updates. It will be a fun session power-packed with immense knowledge of Alex and Filip, our two JavaScript presenters👨‍💻👨‍💻.

Join Filip so he can show you some of the darkest parts of the Javascript and some of the worst examples of JavaScript code - things that cannot be unseen. After a couple of bad parts, we will check some awesome JS examples. In the end, we may even spin a drone with a little bit of JS magic.

18:30 - How to safely blow up your monolith. From a monolithic legacy codebase in Backbone to a modern, modular multi-repository frontend in Angular.
Presenter: Alexander Wende
Note: The talk will be in English.

Alex will present you with the reasons for modernizing the codebase and breaking it up into multiple repositories found in Angular. In addition, he will share the story of how we did it (what we wanted out of, talk about iterate over possible approaches and weighing their benefits/costs together with creating a proof-of-concept as a starting point and implementation of it piece by piece) and where are we at now.
Furthermore, he is going to honestly talk about all the pitfalls, gotchas and discoveries along the way. In other words, you will hear more about all the things we expected to be harder/easier, lessons we learned as well as the solutions to problems we discovered on our JS journey.
