Himalayan Brown Bear

Witness the rare Himalayan Brown Bears in the second coldest inhabited place in the world – Drass, Western Ladakh.
Our lodge is arguably the best location in India for sighting this magnificent mammal of the Himalayas – “Drenmo” (local name for the Himalayan Brown Bear) along with other mammals like the Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, Long Tail Marmot, Musk Deer and the Asiatic Ibex. The region is also a haven for birding as it is home to a variety of warblers, finches and raptors. Drenmo Lodge can be used as a base to explore the heritage and wildlife of Kargil, Suru Valley, Drass and other regions of Western Ladakh
