Saturday Writing Session

All new for 2025! Saturday morning. Pastries, coffee and time to do some writing, or get critiqued on what you've written!

The Sevilla Writers Group is for writers of all levels, from beginners to experienced authors, who write in english.
Our 'salon' runs on Wednesday nights from 5pm to 7pm. But we're also trying out a saturday morning session for those who can't make the wednesday night.

We have poets, novelists, journalists, business writers, travel writers - from award winners and best selling authors, to those just starting out. Everyone is welcome if they want to write, or do write.

VENUE: I'll be at one of the big tables on Level 5 of El Cortes Ingles, in the Gourmet Experience. Turn right when you come out of the lifts and walk through the delicious food section, to find us. If you're in the bookshop you've gone the wrong way.

How it works: After introductions, we'll do a writing exercise. These are lots of fun with positive discussions on what worked well. And they are great to see the different ways people write! You don't have to read but this has kick started lots of people writing again, or trying out their writing skills in a safe environment.

Then we see who wants to read something and get feedback. You don't have to read anything, you can just come along and discuss the readings and meet other writers.
Each person gets 10 minutes to read, and 5 - 10 minutes for feedback and discussion (timing depends on how many people are reading that evening).

Timing: The session starts at 10.30am which means you need to plan to get there by 10.15am SEVILLA TIME. Then we can start on time!!
We'll finish up about 12pm.
Why so brutal on being on time? It's really disruptive when people arrive late and then we have to do introductions again. It means everyone misses out on writing time.

Cost: The event is free.

Host: I will be hosting the session. Once you've attended, then we can add you to the WhatsApp group so you can keep in touch easier. Any questions just get in touch with me through meetup.

Please note: This is not the best group to help if you want to get better at english. We all talk fast, and have difficult accents to understand if you are not fluent in english. An intercambio may be better for you.
