Sew, What's UP? >>> * BUTTONS + ZIPPERS * <<<
Ahoy! It's PRIDE month, and we'll be at Poindexter Coffee for SEW WHAT'S UP on Sunday June 26! I've gotten input that people need buttons and zippers attached so let's rendezvous and make it happen ;)
What's up with the strange title? ---> just throwing phrases together ^_^
BUTTON UP ZIPPER DOWN: Official demo will begin at 12:30. I'll talk a bit about types of buttons and zippers as well as how you can attach them to your piece of work. Hint: there are specialty presser feet for each of these applications! I'm a big fan of attaching buttons by hand, so I'll go over how to do that as well.
As usual, any attendee can ask questions regardless of whether you're stitching or not. Feel free to sit, listen and watch.
There is plenty of space, so you're welcome to bring any fiber craft to work on at the meetup: embroidery, knitting, felting, repair - it's all fair game. Feel free to bring your machines/supplies and work whatever! All are welcome :D
MAJOR POINT: If you're planning to attach a zipper, I suggest bringing your sewing machine. I'll bring 1 machine to demo with.
LOCATION: We'll be stationed in the beautiful study area of The Graduate Hotel which is also the backmost room of Poindexter Coffee in the U-District. They have food and caffeine, so feel free to come early and get yourself energized. Pets are allowed! =D
Note: this event isn't explicitly queer, but I am so feel free to factor it into your PRIDE plans. ^_^
