So, men, please be aware that although your application may have a higher probability of being declined or placed on the waiting list, please do not let this stop you from applying if you are confident that you have much to CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COMMUNITY.

================================

What is Sex Positivity?

Sex positivity is a social movement and philosophy which regards all consensual expressions of sexuality as healthy, encourages sexual pleasure and experimentation, places an emphasis on informed consent and advocates sex education and risk-aware sex. Sex-positivity makes no moral distinctions among types of sexual expression, orientation, or identification, regarding these choices as matters of personal preference.

What does our group do?

SexPositive London is an actual real-life community of open-minded, living and breathing people who all serve as volunteers. We provide a chance to explore, learn, and grow in a safe, welcoming, and consensual environment. We believe that opening without any barriers create energy is a powerful tool for transformation, healing, solidifying relationships, and building community, and we develop that energy by sharing ideas and experiences in both real-world and virtual settings (Secret Facebook Groups & other Social Media.)

Using Meetup as a platform we sponsor events that promote the forming of a strong and well informed community of sex-positive people who support each other in their endeavours to lead richer, fuller, sexier, lives. Our mission is to improve the world by embracing the tenets of the acceptance and wellbeing of yourself being able to talk any topics around people.
Why Sex-Positive Movement?
Because Sex is Life and can be the End.
Most of our events fall into either the social, or workshop categories; others include festivals, fund-raisers and field trips. We place a strong emphasis on community building.

Our in-person events include classes, discussion groups, workshops, socials, parties, activism, and more. They range from member-hosted events (in homes, parks, restaurants, etc.), outings together such as burlesque shows, sex-positive theater, festivals, conventions or visit a dungeon or club together, to signature events (facilitated events like our snuggles, couple/triads massages, and parties including our Crush! events) that are created by its core volunteers. We strive to keep events low cost (enough to cover expenses) and free when possible, but we sometimes do fundraisers, which cost a little more.

ABOUT EVENTS

Touch: We host touch positive happening, from clothes-on snuggles, to skin to skin encounters, to sensual massage classes.

Sensation: The senses are the gateway to the brain, so we plan sensual feasts, naked yoga, dance parties, nature-oriented outings, concerts, and theatre.

Sex: We plan events about sacred sexuality, swinging, fetishes, BDSM, and good old vanilla sexuality, plus allow other like-minded groups to post their events on our page. SPUK welcomes people of all genders, orientations and relationship styles (mono & non-mono) of legal age of consent (except some lecture and educational events which are open to everyone). Sex-Positive is not just a Meetup group, it’s a real community. We want active, aware members who attend events, plan or host events, and bring as much to us as we bring to them. We like to play together because we trust each other.

Sex-Positive events are coded Level 1 through Level 4. (These Levels are only an indication of the event's boundaries and not a hierarchical progression)

Level One is Social/Educational
Friendly, social, and playful, but non-sensual. Activities might include workshops, classes, meet and greets, book clubs, welcome cuddle, eating, or dancing. No disrobing.

Level Two is Sensual
Sensual, possibly flirtatious in case you and the persons you are interacting with might feel that way, but certainly not sexual. Activities might include workshops or classes with nudity or live demonstrations, light touching, sexy dancing, massages, or kissing. Disrobing is optional when it serves a practical function, for example for massages or thermal baths.

Level Three is Sexy without agenda
More overtly sexual. We play with arousal. Activities might include intimate touch, playful exploration between individuals, couples, or groups. Not climax-oriented. May include full nudity.

Level Four is Community
All consensual exchanges between experienced members in the arts of care and consent are to be celebrated in our level 4 events with the premise of safer sex practices as requirement.

How Do I participate at Events?

At events you are expected to be respectful of the boundaries of others and of the event, to take care of yourself, and honour your boundaries and agreements. Beyond that, anything else is up to you. You will never be expected to do anything you don't want to, or to interact with anyone you don’t wish to. But we do expect you to contribute to the vibe through positive social interaction. Sex-positivity is about authentic, respectful, open communication, and being honest about your desires.

All members should lend a hand from time-to-time by hosting events, teaching, and volunteering. There is no other way we can do what we do so inexpensively, there are NO PAID STAFF! We are a do-ocracy, if you see something needs doing, step up to do it!

NO TROLL POLICY

We are not a dating or hook-up group. We are a community. As such, we have a strict “NO TROLL” policy. Please only direct message people you have met in person and have permission to from them to contact them!

MEMBERSHIP

Due to the sensitive nature of SexPositive events, we have chosen to operate as a closed group. We want to be true to the spirit of protecting everyone's privacy and ensuring that our membership is actively interested in our events.

In that spirit, we're instituting a very small membership dues of £10 a year. While the money will go to things like Meetup.com's annual fees and other expenses, we feel this will also reduce the number of non-active members. We offer a 14 day refund policy.

READY TO APPLY?

Thank you for following our Application Guidelines and for taking the time to read about our community. If SPL sounds like a good fit for you, please continue your application by clicking the red “Join Us” button at the top of the page. Please know that there is a 1,000 character limit in the Meet Up system for each answer you supply including spaces. If you provide more than 1,000 characters in any individual answer the Meet Up system will not accept your membership application.

Also, as confirmation measure, we ask that all serious applicants who have read this far make sure to include the copy/pasting of the following sentence as the answer to the first question in the application:

“YES: I have read the Application Guidelines, I am at least 18 years of age, and I am not a troll.”

Thank You!

We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
