Photographing Milky Way NightScape

Details
Join us for the presentation with Royce Bair on how to photograph Milky Way landscapes. Many of these unique photos are shot as one exposure with very little digital manipulation. Royce will give a digital slide presentation, loaded with a lot of technical, how-to information, such as: planning when and where to shoot the Milky Way, forecasting, finding dark skies, calculating star alignment, choosing the right lens, exposure calculation, noise reduction techniques, light painting, and exposure blending. There will also be time for questions and answers.

About Royce Bair
Royce is semi-retired magazine photographer that has been doing "NightScapes" for three decades. His photography has appeared in National Geographic, Smithsonian, Reader's Digest, and American Photo, just to name a few publications. In recent years, many have tried to copy his night photography style and techniques, but Royce continues to teach via free lectures and paid workshops. "Seeing many of my students go beyond what I have done, and use these skills to photograph the Milky Way with new landscape features is very satisfying," reports Royce. He also offers free night photography techniques on his blog, where he features the work of other night photographers: http://NightScapeBlog.com
