Audiences are REALLY enjoying CTC Summer Rep this year...

If you missed our Meetup for Opening Night of this terrific double bill (or if you want to see it again and join us for a yummy, gourmet dinner!), here's your chance! (Just $15.00 - Save $5.00 off the regular ticket price!)

Join us for a wonderful, leisurely Dinner before the show(s) at Sunnyvale's famed Italian American Bistro - il postale - between 5:15pm - 5:30pm. Voted Best Italian restaurant on CitySearch 8 years in a row! Located in Downtown Sunnyvale (127 W. Washington Ave.) 94086. Dinner Entrees range from $12 - $30. [masked])

THEN we'll take a short 10 minute drive to The Sunnyvale Theatre for Two Hilarious One-Act Comedies by Peter Shaffer (the award-winning playwright of Equus & Amadeus!) - Curtain Time is 7:30pm...

Lovesick and desperate young sculptor Brindsley Miller has embellished his apartment with furniture and objects d?arte, borrowed from the absent antique collector next door, hoping to impress both his fiancee?s pompous father and a wealthy art dealer who just might buy his sculptures. When the neighbor unexpectedly returns just as a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness, Brindsley is revealed teetering on the verge of very ripe farce. Unexpected guests, aging spinsters, errant phone cords and other snares impede his frantic attempts to return the purloined items before light is restored. ?One of the funniest and most brilliant short plays in the language.? -London Sunday Times

On a double bill with: THE WHITE LIARS

In another short play by Peter Shaffer, Sophie Lemberg is a fortune teller and a baroness of the Holy Roman Empire - or is she? This third-rate eccentric and disillusioned German fortune teller in a third-rate English seaside resort is visited by the lead singer of a rock band and his business manager who both want their fortunes told. Sophie is bribed by the Svengali-like manager who wants her to predict a horrible future for the the rock singer who is getting ?too close? to his girlfriend. Things are not what they seem to be, and their lives turn out to be much stranger than the fiction Sophie tries to create in her magic ball!

You simply can't beat the intimate Sunnyvale Theatre for comfort and convenience. Air-conditioned, plenty of free parking, and just 200 seats in eight rows, you are practically a part of the action on stage! Located in the beautiful, park-like Sunnyvale Community Center on Remington Drive, (between El Camino Real and Saratoga- Sunnyvale Road), there is a lovely duck pond with fountains and sculptures, an outdoor history of The Valley of Heart's Delight museum and a working apricot orchard. Lots of places to walk and explore and plenty of restaurants nearby.

Members rated the Meetup 4 and 1/2 stars... Here's what Margaret said about the last time we did a Meetup for this show(s) - on Opening Night!

? It was my first time to Sunnyvale Theater. It's a small theater so you can't get a bad seat and very cozy. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it's located in a beautiful area. Of the two plays I enjoyed Black Comedy more but all actors had great energy and could be understood (which isn't always the case). Thank you, Rick, for bringing to light that we can still enjoy good productions locally without always having to drive to SF. I enjoyed the company of the people at dinner as well. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. ?

:0) Rick
