**Bobby Fishkin** is the co-founder of **CrowdDoing**, a global initiative helping virtual volunteers collaborate across disciplines to address complex social, economic, and environmental challenges. A strategic partnership between **Reframe It Inc.** and the **Match4Action Foundation**, CrowdDoing has, for over seven years, mobilized thousands of volunteers toward systems-change innovation in areas such as healthcare, education, and environmental resilience.
One of CrowdDoing’s flagship projects, **[Catastrophic Wildfire Prevention](http://preventwildfire.world/)**, co-led by Bobby Fishkin and Claudia Brenner, aims to reduce the incidence and impact of devastating wildfires through data analytics, social innovation, and collaborative finance. Focused on aligning the incentives of air, water, and fire basin stakeholders, the initiative explores how collective action can reduce wildfire risk while regenerating ecosystems and improving quality of life.
Wildfires cause billions of dollars in losses and long-term environmental damage across regions like California, Brazil, and Australia. CrowdDoing is developing a new systems approach rooted in **shared stakeholder value**, enabling cost-effective wildfire prevention through coordinated regional action. Central to this concept is the **[Wildfire Prevention Derivative](https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/wildfire-prevention-derivatives-by-crowddoing/)**—a financial innovation designed to help insurers, corporations, communities, and policymakers invest in prevention to reduce shared risks. These efforts have been presented by Fishkin at the **Skoll World Forum**, the **Society of Adaptation Professionals**, and the **United Nations Office of Disaster Risk Reduction (ARISE)** conference on “Insurance Innovations for Disaster Risk Reduction.”
Beyond wildfire prevention, Bobby co-leads CrowdDoing’s **Systems Change Venture Lab**, which integrates service-learning, professional development, and experiential education for social innovation. Through this work, he connects complex adaptive systems research with grounded, community-scale interventions—building bridges between theory, data, and impact.
Prior to CrowdDoing, Fishkin founded **Reframe It**, a civic technology venture enabling collaborative public deliberation. He launched technology-community consultations with partners such as **TechCrunch**, the **Knight Foundation**, and the **Silicon Valley Community Foundation**. His early work explored how deliberative democracy could scale across sectors and geographies, leading to engagements with institutions including the **Global Citizen Foundation** in Geneva, the **Institute for the Future**, and **TEDx Hayward**. He has advised on democratic innovation projects for the **European Commission (Tomorrow’s Europe)** and the **Center for Global Development’s** initiative in Tanzania.

Before his career in systems change and civic technology, Fishkin worked as a **playwright**, co-directing and producing original historical works at the **Bloomsbury Theatre** in London, the **Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA)**, and venues across the U.S. He brings this artistic lens into his systems work—using narrative design and collective imagination as tools for regeneration.
A graduate of **Yale University (B.A., Philosophy, magna cum laude)**, Fishkin combines interdisciplinary inquiry with pragmatic experiment. He has received the **McKinsey/Harvard Business Review Award for Collective Intelligence (Management 2.0 Challenge)** and co-founded philanthropic and arts initiatives including **Books for Teachers**, which created thousands of classroom libraries across the U.S., and **ACCESS Baltimore (Arts Creating Community Energy and Social Solutions)**, which connected underrepresented youth with mentors and free access to live arts experiences.
