Whether you're new to Machine Learning or well underway in your career, this local meetup presentation will introduce you to sentiment analysis and its real-world applications. Using the VADER algorithm, we'll explore how sentiment analysis can help classify emotions in text. I'll share three unique scenarios where I've applied this model: analyzing Covid-19 tweets to gauge public sentiment during a global crisis, studying blockchain/bitcoin data to see how sentiment influences market trends, and diving into Emotional Support Animals through newspaper articles to uncover media perspectives on a trending topic.

This session/discussion is designed to be beginner-friendly, breaking down the fundamentals of sentiment analysis. For more advanced participants, we'll also touch on other machine learning techniques like cluster analysis (K-means) and topic modeling (LDA), showing how they work together to help you better understand and interpret large datasets.
