First Saturday Urban Sketchers
Saturday, November 7, 10:30am-12:30pm
Point Molate, Richmond

Come sketch beautiful Point Molate, with gorgeous views of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, Red Rock Island, and Mt Tamalpais, all framed by native toyon shrubs and tall eucalyptus trees.

The Bay Trail now traces the crescent beach between Point Molate and Point Castro. If you can’t nab a picnic table at the beach, the new trail’s wide, paved surface can accommodate a plein air set-up anywhere along the crescent.

From westbound 580, use Exit 7A, the last exit before the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, marked Stenmark Drive/Point Molate. Take the middle fork, Stenmark, over the rise of Pt. Castro. From on high, Pt. Molate Beach Park will be visible.

We meet at the park entry at 10:30 am, near ample parking and one portapotty. We'll meet back there at 12:15pm for the sketchbook throwdown. There is no fresh water, so bring your own. Rain cancels.
