Backpacking: ALPINE LAKES OF THE ANSEL ADAMS WILDERNESS

Details
Ansel Adams was the most famous landscape photographer of the 20th century, and California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain Range was one of his favorite subjects. Honorably, the Forest Service named a stunning section of the Sierra wilderness after him. Our Alpine Wonderland of the Ansel Adams Wilderness trip takes you deep into an unspoiled environment where towering granite peaks; crystal clear lakes; snow-fed, cascading creeks; and wildflower-laden meadows capture guests’ hearts like they did Ansel’s over a century ago. This trip is for adventurous travelers who want to savor the dramatic landscapes of “The Range of Light” away from the crowds of Yosemite, with professional, knowledgeable and friendly guides. Each day we’ll explore these rich mountains, via established on and off trail routes, and we’ll attempt to summit one of the 10,000′ peaks that form Yosemite’s southern border!
