Hi there Symfony folks,

we're happy to announce the relaunch of Berlin's Symfony User Group with interesting talks about Symfony, PHP and the process of developing modern web applications.

Let's start at the 28th of September with:

Modernizing with Symfony by Alexander M. Turek

A legacy application. It still earns the money, but maintaining the old code base is getting harder and harder. Feature development is too slow and the bug tracker is full of severe defect reports.

Rewriting the whole application is something your developers would simply love to do. But the rewrite probably won't go live before it's running out of budget.

Let's have a look at simple techniques that allow us to transform our legacy application step by step into a modern Symfony application.

The talk will be held in English.

Dynamic websites with FirstSpirit & Symfony

Christian Vogel and Ramon Wegner (both interactive tools) will share their experience of using Symfony in combination with the Java Enterprise CMS FirstSpirit for complex relaunch projects. interactive tools has been implementing and supporting FirstSpirit projects for more than twelve years. As FirstSpirit is a CMS generating static pages, frequent challenges are to integrate dynamic applications such as personalization, third party applications or external datasources. interactive tools will present proven solutions for such integrations with Symfony from recent projects with well-known brands and companies.

The talk will be held in English.
