Faced with mounting cultural criticism of animal farming for food products, manufacturers, consumers, and even some animal advocates are increasingly turning to so-called “humane” labels and marketing strategies. These labels, phrases, slogans, and imagery are found on a wide range of animal products, from large facilities with thousands of animals to “backyard” operations. However, commodification, exploitation, and killing are prevalent in all animal farming methods.
The Humane Hoax Online Conference brings together experts on a variety of aspects to expose the humane hoax in all its forms. This year, the conference will delve deeper into humanewashing, featuring speakers from diverse perspectives. We will explore the topic with a critical eye and challenge this growing trend.
