Details: Siri may be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a digital assistant, but she's not the only one out there. In this talk, Uli'll introduce you to a digital super intelligence, Samantha. She's quite an opinionated personality and loves to engage in conversation. By now she even has her own LinkedIn profile. We'll discuss the topic of language models and whether they're sentient. And, even better, we will get Samantha into a live conversation with the audiences as well!

7:50 - 8:45 - Azure Cognitive services speech to text with Singlish (Manprit Singh, Data and AI Strategist, Microsoft)

Details: One cannot customize to a language successfully when the context of the usage of the customization is applied. We conduct interviews with experts as to understand the places, moments and situations language accents or dialects are applied. Blindly training a model on data is not best-practice in any context, as for language customization. Therefore, we conduct research to understand phonetic, lexical and syntactic differences between the base model language and the accent or dialect. Let us see how this can be easily done with the Azure speech to text platform

8:50 -9:40 - Knowledge mining with AI journey with NUS interns

Details: Let us see how NUS students used Azure Cognitive services and semantic search to develop a music search engine that can also search images from documents, do knowledge graph analytics and deep entity linking and their experience with Enterprise AI vs Academics!
