BOYLE HEIGHTS: Japanese Lunch at Otomisan Restaurant

Details
IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO TOO MANY LAST-MINUTE RSVP CANCELLATIONS RECENTLY: ANYONE WHO CANCELS WITH LESS THAN 48-HOUR NOTICE, NO SHOWS, OR ARRIVES MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE WILL BE PLACED ON A 2-MONTH PROBATION AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANY EVENTS DURING THAT PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
This place is a favorite among many Los Angelinos more for its history than its food. Opened in 1956, this little Mom & Pop restaurant has gone through 3 sets of owners since. Now, it's under the hands of its 4th owner, who happens to be Japanese American as well. Otomisan is also now the last remaining Japanese business in Boyle Heights. Back when it first opened, the locals were mainly Japanese Americans and Jewish Americans as well.

EVENT DETAILS:
• We will meet in front of the restaurant shortly before 11:30 am.
• Cost per person is expected to be about $35.00 or more, depending on how much food we order, any beverages, plus tax and gratuity. Please bring at least $60 in CASH (small bills preferred) on hand to settle your portion of the bill. I can also accept payments via Venmo (@tripleaxel), or Zelle/Paypal (sktoy67@gmail.com).
• This event is not designated as family-style dining unless those who will be attending would like the option to share dishes to get a taste of the menu as much as possible.
• Street parking is available. Be sure to check all signs for any parking restrictions. Another option would be to take the Metro Light Rail to the Soto & 1st Street station for the E Line, which is a block from the restaurant.
