Join us as we celebrate the Lunar New Year with a fun evening of food, games, and community! This special event is a great opportunity to meet new people, share cultures, and enjoy a welcoming and social atmosphere.

Everyone is welcome. This group is built on respect, kindness, and inclusiveness.

Marshall Community Park, San Gabriel

Meeting point: Shelter with benches next to the restroom

⏰ Time:
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM — Potluck & Cultural Sharing
We will begin the evening by sharing food together. This is a chance to enjoy dishes from different cultures and celebrate the Lunar New Year as a community.
• Each person should bring one dish to share (homemade food preferred). Surprise us with your cooking skills 🧑‍🍳

• Please comment what food you will bring so others can plan and avoid duplicates

• Please bring an empty container if you would like to take some food home afterward
• If you plan to bring a guest, please comment in the event chat for a headcount, so we know how much food to prepare.
• If you plan to join only the board game section, please also comment in the event chat, so we can adjust the food headcount accordingly. No pressure at all!

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM — Board & Tile Games
We will continue the evening with casual games and social interaction. Main games will include:
• Mahjong

• Poker

• Rummy

No experience needed!

Please bring an extra Mahjong set, Poker set, or Rummy set if you have one.
You are also welcome to bring other games you would like to play. If enough people are interested, we will consider playing your game as a group.
If you plan to join only the potluck section, please also comment in the event chat, so we can have a better estimate how many participants for board games! No pressure at all!

🥤 Additional reminders:

• Please bring your own beverage

• Please bring a jacket in case it gets cold

• We will be seated at the shelter benches

🌧️ Weather policy:
If there is heavy rain, the event will be canceled. Otherwise, the shelter provides coverage and the event will proceed. However, it shouldn't be raining that day.

📌 Requirements:

• Each participant must have a profile photo on their account

• Please be respectful, polite, and considerate of others at all times

• This is a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone

👨‍👩‍👧 Host contribution:
My husband and I will be bringing potato apple salad and beef shacha sauce eggs fried rice. (Changed mind from pork to beef 🥩 )

This is a free, casual celebration open to anyone who wants to enjoy good food, games, and new friendships. We look forward to celebrating the Lunar New Year together with you! 🧧

If the event is full and you want to join, please message me for head count. The thing is that I only have the free tier organizer plan, so the max participants I can have is 10 via the app.
