Join us for a fun & hands-on vegetarian cooking class in the San Gabriel Valley! In this session, we’ll be making Japanese Vegetarian Sushi and Okonomiyaki —two delicious, comforting, and easy-to-make dishes that are perfect for your next gathering or weekend meal.
Our experienced vegetarian chef will teach you new cooking techniques, share recipes, and provide valuable tips on where to source high-quality vegetarian ingredients. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned cook, this class is a great opportunity to improve your culinary skills and expand your knowledge of vegetarian cooking. Come hungry and leave inspired to create mouthwatering vegetarian dishes at home!
What’s Included:
All necessary ingredients will be provided by the host. You’ll get hands-on experience preparing the main dishes while also learning about complementary side dishes. While we’ll focus on step-by-step instruction for the main courses, side dishes will be introduced for inspiration. Get ready for a fun, educational, and delicious experience!
Featured Dishes:
- Main Dishes: Japanese Vegetarian Sushi and Okonomiyaki
- Side Dish: Stir-Fry Japanese Yamaimo (Mountain Yam) with Mushroom, Carrot, and Snow Pea
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Hands-on cooking (washing, chopping, prepping, and cooking)
- 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM: Enjoy the meal together!
Important Notes:
- Please confirm your attendance in the comments at least 48 hours in advance. If you're on the waitlist, confirmation is required as well.
- Punctuality matters! If you expect to be more than 10 minutes late, we kindly ask that you join a session that better fits your schedule.
- RSVP closes 48 hours before the event. Last-minute cancellations make it difficult to accommodate guests from the waitlist, so please plan accordingly.
- This program is donation-based. As organizers, we are committed to keeping this program accessible to all. To help cover the cost of ingredients and materials, we kindly ask for a suggested donation of $5–$15 (or any amount you're comfortable with). Your support helps us continue hosting these fun and educational gatherings. Donations can be made in cash at the event or via a link that will be provided upon request. - I hereby release and hold harmless Tienshin Temple, event organizers, volunteers, and staff from any claims, liabilities, injuries, or damages arising from my participation in this event.
3. Food Allergies & Medical Conditions
- I am responsible for informing the event organizers of any food allergies or medical conditions that may affect my participation.
- I acknowledge that the event hosts are not responsible for allergic reactions or health-related incidents.
4. Indemnification
- I agree to indemnify and defend Tienshin Temple and event organizers against any claims, liabilities, or expenses that may arise due to my actions during the event.
5. Photography & Media Release
- I grant permission for event organizers to use photographs or videos taken during the session for promotional purposes.
