Bredhurst Wood, is situated on a south-easterly aspect in rural Kent, a short distance northeast of Maidstone.
This lovely woodland located on fertile well-drained lime over chalk soils has shaped a mature canopy consisting of majestic beech, oak, ash, cherry, Norway spruce and hornbeam. Below, a lush shrub layer comprises hazel coppice, birch, yew, hawthorn, sycamore, and beech regeneration. An area of the copse towards the southeast is Ancient Woodland, meaning this area has had continuous tree cover since the 1600s. Patches of bluebell (an indicator of Ancient Woodland), primrose, wild rose, and occasional purple orchid add vibrancy to the ground cover throughout the year.
This is a lovely location for the group to first meet
