New Moon Ceremony of Gratitude and Beauty

Come join us for a special event where we gather to express our gratitude and create a beautiful Despacho Offering, aligned with the lunar energies.

As we build a beautiful nature offering, we focus on giving thanks for all that we have, harness the power of the moon to release that which no longer serves us, and open the way for even more love, goodness, and abundance to come our way by getting clear about our intentions.

What is a Despacho?
A Despacho (from the Spanish, meaning to dispatch) is a beautiful ceremony of making a mandala-like offering from natural materials. Coming together in community and ritually assembling flowers, seeds and other objects is an Andean practice of gratitude and sacred reciprocity (ayni) that helps align us to the cycles of the earth, connect with our own hearts, and strengthen our connections to all of creation. Making these offerings can help us restore love, balance, and harmony in our own lives, and in our relationship with Mother Earth and all the beings of nature. After the creation of the despacho, it is bundled up and ritually released into a sacred fire.

These teachings originate from our apprenticeship with the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition through The Heart of the Healer Shamanic Mystery School and Visionary Hearts.

Ayni (Sacred Reciprocity) and Registration
This ceremony is offered by donation and we want to make it as accessible as possible to the community.
The suggested donation is $25-50. All funds raised will be used to offset the cost of supplies and will support furthering our studies. If money is a barrier to entry, please let us know: there are other ways to contribute and share in sacred reciprocity.

What to bring
If so inspired, please bring flowers, feathers, dried plants, or any other natural objects that you feel comfortable leaving as an offering. If you want to bring snacks to share, we do welcome that. We will provide tea, and all other materials. After completing the offering ceremony, we will release it in a ritual fire. (We also gratefully appreciate contributions of firewood, and/or fire tending volunteers).

Location
This ceremony takes place in a private residence in SW Calgary. The address and parking instructions will be sent out upon registration.

Ritual Cosmos: An Introduction to the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Cross-Cultural Shamanism
Join us for a half-day exploration of the expansive heart of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition™. Originated by don Oscar Miro-Quesada, respected Kamasqa curandero and Altomisayoq adept, it is a tradition rooted in Peruvian curanderismo which emphasizes personal and planetary healing.

Create Your Own Pachakuti Mesa. You will have an opportunity to build your sacred altar—your shamanic tool and game board for healing yourself, others, and the Earth.

Explore the Three Shamanic Worlds & Five Directions. You will learn to access the unseen realms for wisdom and guidance through Peruvian wisdom teachings.

Connect with Your Shamanic Allies. Through guided journeying, meet and build relationships with your spirit guides, power animals, and guardians.

What is shamanism?
Shamanism, also known as curanderismo in this tradition, is not a religion: it is a spiritual practice grounded in a reverent awareness that the world is animated, conscious, and energetically interdependent. This workshop will offer some foundational teachings in Andean and universal approaches to shamanism.

Investment
This workshop is offered on a sliding scale, from $40-80. If cost is a barrier to entry, please let us know: there are other ways to contribute and share in sacred reciprocity.

Advance registration (by emailing us or signing up on Eventbrite) is required to ensure you receive all the information you need as well as how to prepare for creating your own Pachakuti Mesa.

What to bring
Upon registration, you will be sent a list of items for creating your own Pachakuti Mesa.

The workshop will include some sitting, brief standing and laying down for a shamanic journey. There are backjacks and chairs available. Please bring anything else you may need to be comfortable, such as extra pillows, a blanket, slippers, water bottle, etc. Please bring your own lunch. There is a fridge and kettle onsite.
We will provide tea.

Location and Schedule
The Ritual Cosmos workshop will be held at the Sophia Sound Temple in SW Calgary. The address will be sent out upon registration.

We will gather on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with a break for lunch**. Please arrive between 9:30-9:50 am to settle in** so we can get started promptly.
