Tiantai Mountain October holiday trip (10.3-10.5)

Tiantai Mountain, Mount Tiantai, or Tiantai Shan is a mountain in Tiantai County near the city of Taizhou, Zhejiang. Its highest peak, Huading, reaches a height of 1,138 meters (3,734 ft) The mountain was made a national park on 1 August 1988. One of nine remaining wild populations of Seven-Son Flower Heptacodium miconioides is located on Mount Tiantai.

In Chinese mythology, the creator goddess Nüwa cut the legs off a giant sea turtle and used them to prop up the sky after Gong Gong damaged Mount Buzhou, which had previously supported the heavens. A local myth holds that Mount Tiantai was on the turtle's back before and Nüwa relocated it to its current position when she had to remove the turtle's legs.

Guoqing Temple on the mountain is the headquarters of Tiantai Buddhism and also a tourist destination. Tiantai, named for the mountain, focuses on the Lotus Sutra. The most prominent teacher of that school, Zhiyi, was based at Guoqing Temple. Over many years it has been an important destination for pilgrims, especially from Japan. The mountain was visited by Saichō in 805 who went on to found the related Japanese Buddhist school, Tendai.

上海发车赴国家级风景名胜区、国家AAAAA级旅游区、佛宗道源、山水神秀、济公故里、中华十大名山——天台山，中餐后自愿自理前往徐霞客三次踏足之地、国内首部武侠巨作《少林寺》外景拍摄地、“第一奇观”【石梁景区】，浙东“唐诗之路”的精华所在。是自然界的一大杰作，是世界上极为罕见的“花岗岩天生桥”，一石横空，巧夺天工，“飞瀑”历经三折穿梁面过，再从40米高的悬崖峭壁飞腾而下，势若奔雷，极尽雄伟奇丽。石梁旁有古方广寺，为五百罗汉总道场。

早餐后参观【国清寺景区】较为著名的是雨花殿、大雄宝殿、隋梅、观音殿等等。后游览天台山百景之首、人间仙境【琼台仙谷景区】是典型的花岗岩峡谷景区以“雄、奇、秀、幽”著称，峰、岩、潭、瀑诸景齐全，构成完美的大峡谷景观。

观诗僧寒山子隐居地、天台的“香格里拉”、天台最优美景区、水上仙境——【寒山湖】（约0.5小时），是天台山风景名胜区中难得的大面积水上活动区，湖上碧波荡漾，群山如黛，倒影如画，可以晨观朝曦，烟波摇红；夕送落霞，浮光耀金；夜赏明月，静影沉壁；夏避酷暑。后参观【张思古民居】，参观农耕文化展示，全国第二批传统村落名录。以张、思两姓居住而得名，此村也有“船地”之称。

Cancellation policy:

Cancellations made 10 days before the trip is 50% refundable; Cancellations made between 5-10 days before the trip is 25% refundable; Cancellations made less than 5 days before the trip is not refundable.

· If the organizer cancels the trip due to weather or other reason, you will be notified 3 days ahead of time and there will be 100% refund.

Considering that outdoor hiking trips have some risks and the unexpected environmental changes or other uncertainties, the organizer will buy professional outdoor insurance for all the members before the trip and also will organize rescue if any emergency on site. All the participants need to follow the guidance of the trip organizer/hiking leaders/coordinators/local guide. Otherwise, you should bear your own consequences caused by your mistakes. We hereby declare that the trip organizers will not have any liability of the unpredictable accidents caused by environment or any accidents caused by the participants’ mistake during the hiking trips.
