Calligraphy, literally "beautiful writing," has been appreciated as an art form in many different cultures throughout the world, but the stature of calligraphy in Chinese culture is unmatched. Chinese calligraphy, or 书法 (shūfǎ), is an ancient art form dating back as early as around 200 BC.Since some Chinese characters are based on pictographs, writing Chinese is almost like drawing, and calligraphy even more so!
In this class we will give you short introduction of calligraphy and teach you how to write the characters. You can practise firstly on the papers and create your own artwork with the guidance :)
