First VR Meetup: Talks, Networking & VR Demos

What is ShanghaiVR?

ShanghaiVR is a meetup focused on the emerging Virtual Reality (VR) technology sector held in Shanghai. ShanghaiVR aims to create a local community enthusiastic about VR and willing to learn and share with each other. We hope to build a community with a wide range of profiles and experiences, from UX designers to 3D artists, programmers and audio engineers. Additionally, we hope to attract entrepreneurs and industry specialists to discuss how VR could be applied to specific industries.

Who should attend?

Anybody interested in learning more about VR and meeting people involved in VR should join. The event and presentations will be designed for both Chinese and English speakers.

Agenda:

1:45pm – Registration

2 - 3pm - We will have 2 or 3 presentations about Virtual Reality followed by a short Q&A session (speakers and topics will be updated soon. If you would like to present, please send an email to florian.brutsche@gmail.com).

Unity, the leading game development platform will attend our event. Unity Solutions team will give a 10 minutes demo illustrating the newest VR technology and applications. Then, professional developers from Unity will answer questions from the audience.

3 - 3:30pm - We welcome anybody who would like to present an idea or talk about their project to the audience.

3:30 - 6pm - Informal discussion and networking. In parallel, we will have 2 Oculus Rift station running demos for the audience to try!

Where will it be and how much will it cost?

The event will take place at C3 Cafe, close from the Xintiandi metro station (Line 10). The address is: Shanghai Huangpu District Huang Pi South Road 700 Suite A105.

In order to support the event we will ask 50 RMB per person at the door and this will include a drink of your choice.

上海VR是以快速崛起的“虚拟现实（VR）”技术为主题的沙龙，举办地在上海。ShanghaiVR旨在创建可供VR爱好者们相互交流学习的本地社团。我们希望此次活动能广泛吸纳具有不同行业背景和经验的成员，从UX设计师到3D艺术家，从程序设计师到音频工程师。我们还希望吸引自主创业者和行业内的专业人士共同探讨VR技术在特定行业中的应用问题。

全球领先的开发平台— Unity 也将出席我们的活动。届时，Unity 的Solutions 团队将通过十分钟的DEMO 展示最新的VR 技术和应用，并由官方的专业人员与现场嘉宾互动。

下午3:00-3:30 －不管是奇思妙想还是原创项目，欢迎你在此时段向大家展示。

下午3:30-6:00 －自由讨论和联谊时间。与此同时，将有两台Oculus Rift设备供参会者现场感受VR带来的神奇体验！
