✨ Historical Treasures Along the Route
🖼️ Granary 1908, Bridge 8 Art Space
This brick fortress of memory was once a key cotton warehouse in Du Yuesheng's commercial empire. Now reborn as an art and design hub, its raw concrete galleries host rotating exhibitions where industrial grit dialogues with contemporary creativity.
🍞 The former site of Fuxin Flour Mill
Amidst national turmoil, the Rong brothers gained their initial capital. In late 1912, they founded the Fuxin Flour Mill, modern Shanghai’s largest private mechanical mill, on Suzhou River’s north bank. WWI boosted demand, bringing strong profits.
🏛️ Shanghai Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial
Inside, historical exhibits and preserved warehouse structures narrate layered tales of industry, war, and resilience. A new glass prayer corridor extends toward the original facade, where light and reflection transform scars into a dialogue between past sacrifice and present remembrance.
💼 Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce
Enter this monument of modern Chinese commerce, where the nation's first chamber of commerce set rules and hosted industrial expositions. Beneath its iconic octagonal dome—symbolizing equality—admire the grand stairway once trod by tycoons.
📮 Shanghai Postal Museum
Begin at this cathedral of communication, whose marble halls once handled 70% of China's international mail. Don’t miss the rooftop garden with bronze sculptures overlooking Suzhou Creek.
🏩 Broadway Mansions Hotel Shanghai
Marvel at Asia's first vault-equipped skyscraper. The restored banking hall’s black-white floor tiles mirror 1920s stock market charts.
