Details

We meet every Monday from 6.00pm George's garden at 32 Park Road, Colliers Wood, which is five minutes' walk from Colliers Wood tube station. We do a warm up and then practice two or three songs and their harmonies in detail from 6.30 to 7.30pm. Then we have a drink and eat some barbequed sausages and sea biscuits.
From about 8pm we sing about ten songs from our existing repertoire of about 32 songs.
Entry is free after 8pm. Before 8pm our regular singers pay £10 each, to help cover the fees of our professional musical director and accompaniest.
If you would like to come and just join in the choruses, and to see what it is like, you would be most welcome. Please drop in after 8 pm, Just go to my back garden gate, shout, and we will let you in
Our leader, coach and musical arranger is Alistair Sutherland who is a professional singer. He also plays the accordion and violin, which makes it easier for us to sing the tune, And we have a 2nd violinist who doesn't play well but is bearable. Newcomers are welcome, as we are not precious about it, and you can always hide in the bushes.
Please bear in mind that some of our existing members can't sing at all, so be assured if you are shy, it would be difficult for you to be the worst singer, and even if you were, you wouldn't be the loudest, and no one would notice you. And we have noticed that newcomers' confidence in their ability grows after two or three drinks.
