Simone Sciarrati (Eng. Team Lead @ Meltwater): "From Kanban to Shape Up-ish"

Hey Shape Up community,

I’m excited to announce the second edition of the Shape Up Practitioners Remote Meetup 🎉!

Next Wednesday, April 29th, at 6pm (UTC), Simone Sciarrati will share how his team tried various product development frameworks like Kanban, Scrum and ultimately landed on what he calls “Shape Up-ish”.

Simone, who is an Engineering Team Lead at Meltwater, works on a team that builds internal services. They are now using an approach of OKRs for goal setting, discovery as per Marty Cagan’s book “Inspired”, some Scrum remains like daily standups and various bits of Shape Up. Overall they have been very intentional about designing the way they work and he’ll let us peek behind the curtain of how things came together for them!

Simone's talk will be split into two parts, to allow time for questions in between:
In part one Simone will talk about the evolution of the team through three years of trial and error in search for team happiness and performance.
In part two Simone will describe how the team has taken inspiration from Shape Up and other sources to create a recipe that allows the team to focus, be engaged and deliver.
