We’re all different in personalities, nationalities, races and religions, but join as one, with the hope of making a difference to those in need. And no special skills are required, just bring your warm heart, that’s all you need…💖

❓WHAT WE DO
➡️Food and drinks
• We prepare food and drinks for the homeless people at Yeongdeungpo station (line 1), in Seoul. For every gathering we buy 170 pieces of the following items: cup noodles, eggs, bread, laver packs, choco pie, sausages and a drink.🍪
• At a spot behind the station, we hand out the food and drinks to the homeless people waiting for us in the line. Have a look at the photos and videos on our Facebook group and Instagram page (links below). This will give you a good idea about our activities.
➡️Other items
• We also hand other items to the homeless. If you have used clothes, shoes, blankets, pillows, gloves, hats or bags, you can bring them and we’ll distribute these to the homeless.
• If you would like to donate other items, but are not sure if they would be suitable for the homeless, then just leave a message and we’ll get back to you.
➡️And we try to do more…
• Volunteering should not be limited to some repetitive actions. It’s much more than that. It’s a social interaction, where we show our kindness and compassion. It’s about treating the homeless with respect and handing out food with a smile.😀

📅WHEN WE MEET
• Every two weeks on Sunday. We gather between 4:45 and 5pm. The event finishes at 6pm.
• Please be on time as the homeless people will be waiting for us.
• In case you cannot find the meeting location, you are running late, or cannot make it, then leave a message in our kakao group chat or call me - 01039309321. If we haven’t heard from you by 5:10pm, then we’ll assume you won’t be joining us.

📍WHERE WE MEET
• Yeongdeungpo station (line1-dark blue line) outside exit 6.
• 🚫NOT Yeongdeungpo gucheong station (line2/5)
• And our stand is under a railroad bridge, so we’ll stay dry in case it rains.☔

👥WHO CAN JOIN
• Anyone with a warm heart.❤️
• No restrictions based on age or Korean/English ability.
• Our volunteers are a mix of Koreans and foreigners. Some are living in Seoul permanently, others are working or studying here for a while and some join us while spending their vacation in Korea. People with different ages and backgrounds from different parts of the world providing some relief to the homeless in Seoul. Isn’t that nice!🤩
• And children can also join. We’ve had several children from ages between 6 and 12 helping us out and they did great!👍

🧑🤝🧑HOW TO JOIN
• For every gathering, I create an event on Meetup. Just click ‘going’ and you’re ready to join us. We put a limit of 20 attendees to join our gathering and hope for 15 volunteers to come over and help us hand out food to the homeless people at Yeongdeungpo station.😉

• After every event i write a post and upload it together with some photos and occasionally videos on Instagram, Facebook and in our kakao group chat. Feel free to share our posts, stories and reels on Facebook and Instagram. It helps us to attract more volunteers and also to raise awareness among Seoul citizens about the homeless population in Seoul.

‼️IMPORTANT
• Please leave your valuables in our car behind the station. Don’t leave them at the spot where we hand out food.🚗
• We take photos and videos during our event, which we later post on Facebook and Instagram. Let us know if you don’t want to be shown on social media. We allow you to take photos and videos at our event, but please don't show the homeless people's faces on social media📽️
• Some of the homeless people can be drunk and therefore sometimes act loudly and offensively. Let us know if this makes you feel unpleasant or unsafe. Our regular members have experience with removing this person in a gentle way.

💰SUPPORT US
It is with your financial support that we can add extra food items and keep the group running.
• We ask for a 10,000 won donation fee per person to help us buy supplies. Children don’t have to pay.🙏

⌚EVENT DETAILS
4:45-5pm:
• Gather at Yeongdeungpo station, socialize and get to know the new members.
• Short explanation about today’s activity.
5:10pm:
• Get the supplies out of the car.
• Go to our spot, unpack the boxes and line up all the food items.
5:15 ~ 5:45pm:
• Hand out food and drinks with a smile to about 170 homeless people.😁
5:45 ~ 6:00pm:
• Clean up
• Take a group photo.📸
• Short wrap up speech and donation time (10,000won).
• More socializing.🗣️
6:00pm:
• Every Sunday from 6:30 till 8:30 there is another gathering at Seoul station, where a group called PLUR also hands out food to the homeless people. After our event there are always some volunteers who take the subway to Seoul station and help out at the PLUR event. Feel free to join them and serve two good causes in one day!😍
