Minnewaska - Lake Minnewaska, Beacon Hill, Awosting Falls, Sunset Carriage Road

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE EVENT DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP.

We’ll meet in front of the Visitor Center in the Upper Lot at Minnewaska State Park (turn left and proceed up the hill after paying at the toll booth). If you want to visit the Visitor Center and/or use the facilities, please arrive early enough to complete those things prior to the meeting time. The hike is a fairly easy 5 or so miles and will be at a relaxed pace. There are hills, but the terrain is not difficult. We’ll use the Lake Minnewaska Carriage Road, Beacon Hill Path & Carriage Road, and Sunset Carriage Road.

Bring snacks and plenty of water.

No dogs please.

The park fee is $10/vehicle. Empire Pass holders are free. On weekdays only, NYS residents 62+ with ID (and occupants of those vehicles) are also free.

In the interest of transparency: while most spots for this hike will be simply first come, first served, and people will be moved up automatically from the Waitlist in the order they signed up as spaces become available, I will reserve a few spots for frequent attendees and others of my choice.

IIF YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS EVENT AND ARE MOVED TO THE GOING LIST, IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU WILL ATTEND THE EVENT.

If there is sufficient interest, we can go out after the hike for a meal or to get something to drink.
