A tour around Abney Moor
Details
Meeting at Bamford train station car park, this route takes in a lovely wooded valley, open moors overlooking Derwent Valley and finishes at a lovely garden centre cafe. Overall 9 miles with moderate hills. Note sections will be very muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear
For those who like the detail: we will set off along the River Derwent, head up to Offerton Hall, down into Highlow brook, following the wooded brook up to Abney, then up and over the moor to Bradwell Edge and down some tracks to Bamford via Shatton (hehe).
A train is due in the station at 10:39, however please check times / cancellations yourself before the walk. Parking at the station car park.
Be prepared:
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year. A waterproof is always advised, as well as plenty of food and water. Please bring sun protection if required (sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream etc). Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.
