Full description:
This one is putting the 'country' in the Sheffield Country Walk! From Fox House, we’ll do a circular loop up to Upper Burbage Bridge and back via Higger Tor. When we get to Fox House again, we cross Hathersage road onto Moss Road and follow that all the way back to Totley. We have quite some mileage to complete, so make sure you eat something beforehand, as we won’t be having a food break. It may also start to get dark towards the end of the walk, so you can bring a head torch just in case.

Public transport or car sharing options:
Getting to the start:
- Bus 65 to Tideswell via Hunter’s Bar (Sheffield Interchange D6, 17:58 > Fox House, 18:30)

Getting home from the finish:
- Bus 97 to Hillsborough Interchange via Abbeydale Road (Baslow Road/Hillfoot Court, 21:42 > Arundel Gate, 22:07)
- Bus 218 (peakline) to Sheffield Interchange (Baslow Road/Hillfoot Court, 21:36 > Sheffield Interchange, 21:59)
- 10 min walk + Bus 98 to Hillsborough Interchange via Abbeydale Road (Totley Brook Road/Wessex Gardens, 22:13 > Arundel Gate, 22:37)

Additional info:
This walk is part of the 'Spring Weekday Walking Challenge'. Join us in trying to make the most of British Summer Time this Spring by completing all 10 sections of the Sheffield Country Walk! More info here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/spring-challenge

This challenge and the corresponding walks are for Ramblers members only, so we require a membership number when signing up for the walk. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/faqs. If you want to try out the Sheffield 20s & 30s Walking Group before becoming a member, we recommend joining our socials and/or weekend walks.

If you’re a member, you can join the walk even if you don’t want to participate in the challenge (but challenges are fun, so we encourage you to try walking all sections!).

Be prepared:
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with enough layers, sun protection if required, a waterproof, and food and water. Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared

Sign-up:
Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.

Please note:
Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group is part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join us on our walks, there is no need to contact us in advance, and as long as you have a place on our Meetup booking system you can just show up. Non-members can come on up to 3 walks before joining the group. After 3 walks, we require you to sign up as a Ramblers member for insurance purposes. More information about the group can be found at https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/faqs.
