Full description:
Make the most of the final Friday evening before the Summer Solstice setting out from Stoney Middleton towards the River Derwent, making a sharp ascent up Froggatt Edge, then following the Edge to the Longshaw Estate and back to Fox House. Hopefully, we will get some lovely views as the sun sets (21:58). Please bring head torches in case of any delay on the walk. A good level of fitness is required to manage the sharper climbs.

Public transport or car sharing options:
This is a linear walk which makes use of the 65 bus to Stoney Middleton. The 65 leaves Sheffield interchange at 17:58 and should arrive in Stoney Middleton at 18:43. We will wait for this bus if it is late. The only return bus we are likely to be in time for is the 272 from Fox House heading to Sheffield at 22:59. If you wish to drive home from the walk afterwards, there is the option to park near Fox House and catch the 65 as it passes at approximately 18:20.

Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.

Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group is part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers.
