Full description:
This is the longest section of the Sheffield Country Walk, so make sure to eat something in advance and bring snacks plus water. We start out walking through Greno Woods and come out onto a country lane towards Birley Edge before bending off to Middlewood. After crossing the railway, we head for Worrall. After that, it’s pretty much a straight line along fields towards High Bradfield.

If we struggle for time, we can cut the route short and end at Middlewood, but the aim is to make it all the way to High Bradfield and catch a bus from there.

Public transport or car sharing options:
Getting to the start:
- Bus 86 to Chapeltown via Hillsborough (Sheffield Angel Street CG3, 17:29 > Penistone Road/Wood Seats, 18:10)

Getting home from the finish:
- Bus 61 to Hillsborough Interchange (Loxley Road/Woodfall Lane, 21:48 > Hillsborough Interchange, 22:18) + any bus to Sheffield Centre

By car or bike:
Alternatively, park your car or bike at Hillsborough Interchange and take bus 86 to Wood Seats from there.

Additional info:
This walk is part of the 'Spring Weekday Walking Challenge'. Join us in trying to make the most of British Summer Time this Spring by completing all 10 sections of the Sheffield Country Walk! More info here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/spring-challenge

This challenge and the corresponding walks are for Ramblers members only, so we require a membership number when signing up for the walk. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/faqs. If you want to try out the Sheffield 20s & 30s Walking Group before becoming a member, we recommend joining our socials and/or weekend walks.

If you’re a member, you can join the walk even if you don’t want to participate in the challenge (but challenges are fun, so we encourage you to try walking all sections!).

Be prepared:
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with enough layers, sun protection if required, a waterproof, and food and water. Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared

Sign-up:
Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.

Please note:
Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group is part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join us on our walks, there is no need to contact us in advance, and as long as you have a place on our Meetup booking system you can just show up. Non-members can come on up to 3 walks before joining the group. After 3 walks, we require you to sign up as a Ramblers member for insurance purposes. More information about the group can be found at https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/faqs.
