Full description:
A classic! From Bamford station we will make our way straight up to Stanage Edge in search for fabulous views over the Peaks. We will then walk along the edge before descending and making our way back to Bamford via Bamford Edge. A perfect chilled out walk for a Sunday afternoon - but one that still requires appropriate footwear! Bring lunch - we may eat as soon as we have tackled the ascent - and a blanket and a book, as we will stop for a bit at the top of Stanage Edge.
Please note: there is a warning for ticks in the area. If you wear shorts, make sure to inspect your body surface at the end ;-)

Public transport or car sharing options:
Take the 12.14 from Sheffield station, arriving in Bamford at 12.35. If you are driving, there is free on-street parking and a free parking lot at the recreation ground just up the road from the train station. Don't forget to arrange car shares in the comments below!

Be prepared:
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year. A waterproof is always advised, as well as plenty of food and water. Please bring sun protection if required (sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream etc). Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.

Sheffield 20’s and 30’s Walking Group is part of the Ramblers, a registered charity. All of our leaders are volunteers.
