Full description:
A trip to tick off some Ethels up on Shatton Moor and Durham Edge, where we’ll see lovely views (weather permitting) from one of the quieter areas of the Peaks. A good chunk of this walk is on public byways, so aside from the of ascent at the beginning, expect easier going walking for the most part.
We’ll stop for lunch somewhere on the route so please make sure to bring lunch with you, and consider something to sit on.
Once we’re back we’ll head to The Wild Kettle Cafe at the garden centre for a post-walk treat.
Public transport or car sharing options:
272 bus leaves Sheffield Interchange at 09:36 and arrives at the Bamford bus turnaround at 10:29. No trains due to engineering works. If you’re driving and can take passengers, please use the comments on Meetup to arrange.
Be prepared: Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with plenty of warm clothes and waterproofs, as well as food and water. Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared
