Walk from Baslow.

Details

Join fellow members and friends for this enjoyable walk. The starting point is easily accessible by bus from Sheffield and car parking is usually readily available.

We will leave Baslow Village Hall (Beside Nether End car park and bus stop) and make our way into the Chatsworth Estate, walking up the easily ascending path to the Hunting Tower. We will have a brief photo and drink stop here. We will then descend towards Chatsworth House and on to Edensor where we will have tea / coffee and refreshments in Edensor tea rooms before making our way back to Baslow via Queen Marys Bower. We will arrive back in Baslow around 3.30pm. There are shorter options available should people not wish to cover the full route.

The walk will be led by an experienced walk leader who is a qualified Advanced Outdoor First Aider to level 4. The walk has been fully risk assessed and is classed as Grade 2 ( paths with some moderate ascents and descent). The full walk is approximately 5 miles long but with shorter options available.

Equipment Please bring proper walking boots or shoes, rucksack, waterproof jacket, spare fleece and food, and drink for refreshments. NO DOGS ON THIS WALK PLEASE.

Transport by car - Parking is usually available at the top of Eaton Hill (across from the Village Hall). There is also a pay and display car park at the start of the walk. If you would like to car share please give details in the comments.

By bus - Bus 218 leaves Sheffield Bus Station at 0910 hrs and 09 40hrs on Sundays. The bus stops outside the Nether End Car park next to where the walk starts.
