Monsal Trail Circular Walk, Bakewell

The Monsal Trail circular walk via Packhorse Lane (Little Longstone) is generally a 4-mile to 4.9-mile (approx. 6.5–8 km) route, typically taking 2–3 hours to complete.to Monsal Dale, traverses the trail, and includes a charming walk back through the fields or via the quiet lane. We will be going at a nice slow steady pace.

We will get the 10.10 218 bus at Sheffield Interchange which gets to Bakewell at 11.10. The walk to the old railway platform is about 10 mins slight uphill over Bakewell Bridge, cross the river and arrive at the old station building for the start of the trail.

There is a great cafe a short distance on the trail where we can stop for lunch and drinks before continuing.

We turn left into Packhorse Lane then cross some fields back into Bakewell for final drinks before returning home.

Please keep in mind this walk is about 4.5 miles and although it's quite flat some level of fitness is needed for the walk. There is a cafe, as I mentioned, where we will stop for refreshments and a rest.
